I'm having a crisis of TVR faith.
I currently own a TVR S2, which I've had for about 4 years. She was run pretty regular for the first 3 years, but over the last 12 months I haven't had much chance to get on the road due to work and other commitments.
So I'm think of selling her. The thought depresses me and I know for a fact that if I got the chance to drive her, I would immediately write the idea of selling her off. Sadly, it's looking more and more likely that she won't get the use she needs bar the annual trip to Le Man.
I've notice that TVR prices (more specifically S prices) have been on the rise over the last year. Is there any particular reason for this, other than the fact people are catching on to the fact they are a great car? Are they becoming uncommon?
If I do decide to sell, it probably won't be for a few months as there are a few little jobs I'd like to get sorted first.
The classifieds seem to indicate a reasonable quality S is circa £4000 - £4,500. Is that accurate or is it the fact the classifieds contain only very good examples?

I think prices are on the rise as most S's are now in the hands of enthusiasts who are not only improving them but also keeping them for a long time. I have had mine for 4 years and use it most days all year but am still steadily improving it. Have noticed recently that it's attracting more attention than previously, I regularly get comments and people coming over for a chat when I'm parking. Many are very surprised when I tell them how affordable they are.
So my advice would be don't sell in haste as you'll almost certainly repent at leisure.

I think if I'd joined you in Scotland, I might have enjoyed the Rusty Nail Run a bit TOO much. I'm quite partial to those single malts. Perhaps I should do it next year - as a passenger!

Just have to sort out a date that doesn't clash with other events & book a heatwave ( a day earlier this time ). Watch this space.....

Sell 'her'!!! What madness is this I hear! Surely 'she' has to become part of the family? Mine certainly is and is even mentioned separately in my will!!
Given the rapid price rise in other cars I have a hand in (crazy increase in a Porsche 912 and a TR4A over last few years), it looks like all the 'budget' end of the sports car market is a pretty safe bet. One good summer has helped as well, I have had loads of nice comments as we turn up 'topless'. I don't know what 'she' stands you at but just knowing that she is there ready to use when you want may be enough. When she is gone.........?????

Make a list of the things you love about your car - the sound, the smell of oil, etc etc think really hard about every little thing.
Then make a list if why you want to sell it - not using it much, space, cost.
Read it carefully, take deep breath and then go with your heart. You are a long time dead !!!!
