You don't see many around these days, but I remember them fondly in the late 90's.

Check this one out! I've no idea if it will sell for that sort of money, but I just love the colour combo and pre-bodykit lines.

If I were wealthly and could burn £9k without even flinching, I'd buy this at 9am tomorrow morning!

I've had two. My first was only 3 years old when I got it and was lovely. Once on the move they are much quicker than their 220bhp would suggest. Unfortunately they've largely fallen into the hands of the wrong sort these days. I've seen a couple with ironing boards bolted to the bootlid, dump valves whooshing as they pass. Most end up blown up by owners turning up the boost on their £1500 "Ferrari" lookalike. Rust is starting to affect most of them now too.

The one in the advert looks tidy, but could still need a whole host of suspension components and other consumables. They're not the best at cornering with a fresh set of bushes and shocks, let alone on 16 year old stuff, 30k miles or not. £9k is the height of optimism, even for a low miler like that. It'll be a long time before they achieve anything like classic status.

Love the colour but not the interior on that one, mine turned out to be a lemon but I still have a thing for them, remember seeing a sprint blue one like that on Princess Parkway when the 20 vt came out, looked sensational as it hooked past and sounded great, my mate was contracting per millennium and bought a new black one, I got mine a few years later but the previous had ruined it by running it short of oil, mine was portofino blue which was nice but should have held out for a sprint blue one.

Its funny how Chris Bangle got slated at BMW but this was one of his body designs and still look good, as well a his bmws. Modern bmws hae no real design factors they are deigned by committee.

I had one briefly, very good fun but did always feel fragile. Really liked the engine.

They need to have colour coded skirts though for me otherwise they look a bit wrong.

Bloody right, too. That's lovely.

It is a very ambitious price, but I just keep looking at it!

Such a nice design.

One of the pictures shows the tax disc expiring in Aug 2012. I'm not sure why you would make a point of taking a picture specifically of this unless this has been knocking around for sale for over 12 months now and is just an old photo.

Nice though, I would only give £5k for t tops though.

I've never owned or driven one, but I loved the look of them from day one.

To me, it was an instant classic. The dash alone was enough! smile

Understeer city. I briefly owned one, doing the clutch was difficult on my driveway.

I had one of the first 20vts back in 1998. It was Portofino blue and I had it chipped to 280hp which was a lot back then. Went like the clappers and I still remember it fondly. Too chavtasic these days and many have been ruined by idiots.

I think that's the case, I'm fairly sure it appears every now and again on FCCUK and everyone agrees it's very nice but no ones going to spend 9k on it.

I'm not a huge fan of the Coupe in the more garish tones, mines in dark green and all the better for it.

£9k is him not wanting to sell and his mrs demanding he put it up for sale.

Don't like them, drove one and though nothing special in any way about them.
