Buying a mr2 to track day

Buying a mk2 mr2 to track day soon really like the idea of a turbo but is it going to overheat and be a pain in the ass going to be a track day only car so insurance isn't a problem just need to know if a turbo is going to cause problems ? Any help much appreciated

Mine was fine on track. Needed better brakes though, they do overheat. Engine was bulletproof.

I have just bought a '94 Rev 3 GT Turbo for £1900 to use as a track car, it has had a full service including cambelt, replaced the ignition components just to be on the safe side and it has new disks, carbotech pads and decent fluid, taking it to Brands on the 29th.

They are good cars if properly maintained.

I bought one a few months back. Had plenty of useful mods on it and is pushing around 275 bhp. Hasn't missed a beat although sould do with a bith of suspension work at the moment.

I'm mainly looking to buy from imoc anywhere else you can suggest ? And in my price range they are around 90000 miles is this ok if they have been well maintained ?

Good choice. Go for the turbo.

Standard brakes won't last. I opted for Carbotech XP10 pads, standard discs, braided lines and RBF600 brake fluid. Superb!

I've owned this for 5 years, and I have gave it loads of abuse in that time! However, suspected ring-land failure has put an end to things at the moment.
Engine is coming out over the winter and I'll rebuild it along with doing more to the car itself.

For the money I've spent I know I could be driving something more suitable to track, but I can't bring myself to let this go. Someone could offer me £15K for it today and I wouldn't sell it. They are brilliant cars on track, very predictable with the correct setup, but you sometimes get a bit drama if pushed too much... But that's the exciting part!
