Previcox 227mg for an elderly Greyhound?
Discussion
Has anyone had experience of this NSAID product to ease arthritic discomfort?
The vet has given it to us as a replacement for Meloxivet which looks to be upsetting our Meg's tum.
A brief google reveals some real side-effect horror stories.
I know this is the case with all drugs but hoped to hear some first hand thoughts before we give it a go.
Thanks,
Eric

I've just had a look at some of the stories. Some are hard to read but many suggest underlying illnesses poss misdiagnosed (ie the dog which ended up with a ruptured spleen px Previcox)

A heat pad for their bed will also help ease discomfort.
Thanks but, unfortunately, she gets too hot very quickly and she'd get up and go somewhere cool quick enough.bexVN said:

They did a blood test but thinking about it, I think it might have been just to check the pancreas is working ok. I'll ask next we're in.YoungOne said:
Just make sure any advice you get is greyhound specific, as I'm sure you know they can react differently than other breeds. Vets don't always take this into account.
Indeed, very good advice.Thanks again.
