There was a mangled 911 GT3 on the southbound carriageway of the A1 just north of Wetherby today at about 5.00PM. frown

Seemed like it had gone into the barrier on the central reservation, both ends had taken a hit, but it looked like the main centre section was fine.

Not sure how it happened but there were marks on the verge and in the barrier on the left side too, so maybe it bounced off each side.

I passed this a couple of minutes after it happened just before 4pm. There were a lot of marks on the verge and road. It had hit the central reservation fairly hard as the police were retrieving bodywork off the opposite carriageway. Like has been said the front and back had taken most of the impacts but the main body of the car looked to be OK and the driver was out the car so hopefully they were OK.

There were quiet a few Police cars around when I passed it, also a mile or so down the road I passed a Blue 1 series Coupe on a breakdown truck with front end damage, I wonder if the two were linked?.

Tends to be a lot of standing water, esp near the former Bramham interchange & could easily be caught out if tyre tread is getting low.

Coming home from Malton early afternoon, there were far too many people driving too fast for the wet conditions.

This was north of wetherby at the A59 junction. Was dry when I passed, I'd be surprised if this weather related.

Yep, roads were dry when this happened. I too wondered if the BMW was related too.
