987 S 06 value?

Hi all,
I think it's time to find a new owner for my Boxster, it just isn't being used much and it's a fair distance to any good roads from where I live, plus it's getting more and more fun to fold myself into it.
It's a 3.2 2006 Boxster S, manual, 19" black & diamond cut wheels + a second set of 18" silver wheels, 61k miles, FSH, all options apart from phone module and full electric seats.
Wandered down to 911 V to see if they were interested in it for an acceptable price, but as they said they would sell it for £14k we decided there wasn't much point in deciding on a price to buy it from me.
Looking at the adverts I see other 3.2 987s being sold for anything from £16k upto £19k, but haven't seen any others with a decent options list. Of course thats the price they are asking, don't know what price they actually sell for.
What's a fair price in todays market? I don't mind waiting until March / April 2014 when it's the best time to sell a convertible.
I suppose ideally I'd like to find someone with a Jag XKR 2006 or 2007 (facelift one) and do a swap + cash.

May be worth a look on ebay at finished auctions. you can select to see the auctions that have already ended in the advanced settings. May give you an idea of what people are bidding up to.
Only other options is to look over the usual sites Ebay/autotrader/pistonheads to see what the average asking price is for private sales.
Just a real quick look on auto trader is showing a few with less miles (30-40K) 2005-2007 models advertised around 14K

I have just been trying to sell my 2005 boxster 2.7 with 50100 miles in immaculate condition. Advertised on pistonheads for a month,gumtree and ebay. I saw cars at dealers with more miles up at £12500 to £13000. I advertised mine at £11450,got 2 phone calls from timewasters,nobody viewed the car in a month! My friend got offered £8000 as a trade in at OPC for his but it had 68000 miles. I haved traded mine for £10500 against a silver 993 which was priced correctly. I was at BCA Edinburgh last week where a private seller was trying to sell an 05 mint example with just 29000 miles and they couldnt get a bid at 10K. He would then have had a big commission to pay. I know its easy to look at dealers forecourts and think mine must be worth just a little less but pistonheads is awash with 987 boxsters(over 300). I think if you really want to sell you need to accept it will be about 11K as it will soon be 8 yearsold and we are coming into winter.Its just depressing trying to sell a boxster just now.
Yep, I know right now is the worst time to try selling a convertible anything, and I'm not too bothered if I have to wait until spring before advertising it.
There's 300 987s on PH right now? Good god, it's become the peoples car. Maybe those people who call them Beetles had something!
As to what I'm after next, I really haven't made up my mind.
A 4.2 Jag XKR sounds very nice, it's definitely a GT car, not a sports car, and to be honest I'm just fine with that. One downside with the Boxster (and other Porsches) is that they're too good, there's too much grip, and the power level matches the chassis and matches the grip very well, so it's relatively easy to go fast, but more difficult to have slidey/drifty type of fun, which with all the traffic and speed cameras, and bloody morons happy to do 40mph on a 60mph road makes the fun more accessible to me.
But there again I've also got a 2012 Focus 1.0 Ecoboost to cut down the fuel used (and to stop racking up the miles on the Boxster). My commute is only 20 miles a day, but still halving the petrol bill per month from £100 to £50 is nice.
As I know what the Boxster is now worth I might as well just use it and forget about the mileage and get rid of the Focus.
Other silly options are a Cobra rep, '7' type of thing, yank tank, 1000bhp Supra...
Someone posted a link in the Smokers and Barges thread to a nice oldish Merc AMG for £5k. Very nice sleeper and comfy cruiser, if I only had one car at the moment I'd have bought it and happily gone back to bangernomics.
Earlier this year I had a holiday and drove the Boxster down the the South of France / Monaco, etc, for 2 weeks. Lovely holiday and smashing roads on the back roads down there, but on the slog back I was wishing I'd flown down there and hired a brand new Boxster / 911 / Aston - the hire cost would be the same as the fuel bill!
