Can any MOT testers on here confirm in DRLs (daylight running lights) part of an MOT please?

the reason I ask is because I only found out recently that reversing lights are not part of an MOT.

Thanks very much smile

I stand to be corrected but I'm reasonably sure they were not mandatory on new cars until February 2011 so not required by MOT yet. Obviously it'll only apply to cars built after that date.

No. DRLs are not currently part of an MOT test.

I've heard this before but is it true?

My MiL has a "12" plate Fiesta bit has no DRLs.

It's new models, not new cars.

On some cars such as the MK2 Fabia VRS the position lights within the headlights are inoperative and the front position lights are provided by the DRLs which dim when the position lights are turned on. So on some cars they could be testable as position lights, but DRLs operating as DRLs are not testable.
