My names Tony and I've got a wedge...............

Thanks for the heads up Rob, it seems like a good genuine car and very tidy. I'd like to meet up with the rest of the NE/yorks crew somewhere/sometime. I'm a couple of miles from Scotch Corner.

In the meanwhile folks I'll apologise for all the fortcoming questions (and the ones I've already asked).

Drove the car back home in the pouring rain this afternoon, initial thoughts: it's so like and yet so unlike the Chimaera I had about 10 year ago (24k miles in 3 years as a daily driver).

Dials and s/wheel as the Chimaera, power maybe not as high but I can still persuade the rear to step out, it rains in above the doors a little bit unlike the newer model, the steering column shimmys sideways and I cannot decide if that vibration is from the front, rear or propshaft at the minute. But it's great to be back in the TVR fold, it's been too long away.

Welcome Tony, hope you enjoy your new wedge. Steering could be down to the terrible bulkhead bearing fitted by TVR. Dixie will be along soon to explain more and post a link to where you can get a new, better one for around £15.

Meet up definitely on the cards.

Door height is adjusted by the fixing at the base of the door, release the wire and retighten once you have the desired height.

Cheers
Think its more the rubber seal than door height although the window does come up higher than it needs to.

Cheers Dix,
there is a little bit of play in the top bush which lets the column shudder sideways a little although I was thinking there was a bit of chassis flex/scuttle shake in there too. Not as much as the steering wheel though..

Brought the car into work this morning, (it's raining again), it's much better to drive when you aren't following the wife who is stuck behind some sunday drivers. Some slow coaches and ditherers out yesterday.

Todays question is "has anyone made any adjustments to seating or pedals for a lady who is only 5'3"". With the seat fully forward she cannot depress the clutch fully"?
Cheers Guys

Right i know im gunna get a load of grief for this. I am vertically challenged 5"6 and a half rolleyes. So what i done was remove the seat and chock it up with wood it brings you closer to the pedals too!

Go on then theres the bullets lads.

The bush makes a world of difference. All the steering shudder disappears.

Hi again
Yes the wheel moves in relation to the dash so you are right (been out at lunchtime)..have you got a link to your earlier thread please and how is it better, just harder rubber?

And I've been a PHer for longer than most but never got the hang of posting pics
Wish I could 'cos I have had a few over the years worth putting up.
Can I use Flickr? I've got one of their accounts somewhere.

Well that's good timing (for once!)

I'm redoing the front brakes and suspension on my 450i in the next few weeks. Just read this thread and remembered I had this in my desk drawer! smile

Hi and welcome..I think wild rover was suggesting that you adjust the wire that retains the height of the window..Its basically a bicycle brake cable and fitting that stops the window from going up too much..You will see it once you remove the door card..Rubber door seals are available and i think the 350's have an extra bit where the window goes against the hood frame on the sides..Cheers..Ziga
