400SE winter upgrades?? need thoughts / Ideas
Discussion
Well that's it for driving the 400SE till the sun comes out again early next year
As some of you may remember I bought Elviswedgley's 400SE a couple of months ago and have had a lot of fun in it for the last few weeks but now its gone to the garage to have the work I want carried out
I am changing the dash back to wood, re trimming the interior and generally tidying her up but what I really want to know is what are the other bits / upgrades that I should be doing while she is off the road - the chassis is sound and she runs really well
Cost is not really the issue as I want to get the car as good as possible so really need ideas on what others have done to generally improve their cars and are there any "have to do" upgrades?
Look forward to as many ideas as possible
Thanks
Simon

Simon, I am glad you are enjoying the Wedge. The good thing about buying a Wedge that has been worked on over the years is that the 'have to do upgrades' have probably already been done. My advise would be to keep the car as original as possible, especially now that your going down the root of an original dash. These cars always keep their value better when kept close to original specifications and in a way probably look better. There is always the option of having better suspension and better braking system without altering the main structure of the car, but it really depends on how far you want to go and what you prefer. Whatever you decide, I wish you luck and I can't wait to see the finished result. All the best.

Thanks for the advise
I want to keep it as original as possible that is my main aim! Its the underneath upgrades I want to know about - as I'm running through things now with my mechanic - the cosmetic upgrades are easy - sorting out the bonnet crack / paintwork / tidying up the interior etc.
Just looking for some further pointers - and I promise you will see the end result - BBWF 14?? looking forward to seeing your new acquisition also!
Best wishes
