If the weekend news paper is anything to go by, I'd make the most of any dry day while you can. Apparently snow in November to beyond February, the worst winter for 100 years. All sounds a bit familiar though doesn't it?

I'm keeping mine in use- there are always dry days over winter, and maybe just a little more power with the cold air!

Yep, it probably will snow from now till next summer...

I went snowboarding off of grahams last year smile

Mine used to be used every day as it was my company car... Ive got some engine mods planned over winter that will mean taking it off the road.

I certainly won't sorn mine, but my biggest worry is salt on the chassis rather than the snow itself! Had a whale of the time in the rain on Saturday for instance.

I agree on the sunny day theory. Always nice to have it there as an option.

But it really does need to be sunny and dry for mine to come out!!!

I don't really put it away. It just sits with the ctek connected and if the suns out when I wake up then it comes out.

This time of year, I follow the weather forecast looking for the rare sunny days to use my pride & joy for the daily commute.
I went to bed last night eagerly anticipating a nice sunny morning drive to work in the Noble.
The forecast had predicted a fine day today, which indeed it is now, but first thing.....Drizzle. Agghhhhh.irked

I haven't used the car for two weeks now, and am itching for a good spin. I definitely don't see the point of mothballing for winter though, unless there's work to be done on it. A dry garage and an accumate are all that's required to leave ready on standby. Oh, and my tyres seem to seep some pressure over time too.

Actually I found a positive side to the damp roads...

Was able to explore how the car reacts at grip limits. Much easier and slower in the wet.
I work near an airfield/industrial estate that has a few large roundabouts that pretty much go nowhere.
Quite interesting to see how the car reacted, generally with a neutral throttle it would mildly oversteer until it would go into full drift. The angle of the drift fairly easily controlled by throttle. actually some positive throttle tended to stabilise the car. too little throttle can provoke oversteer (either slowing the rear too much, or allowing the front to grip a little..?).
Certainly what it didn't do is wash the front out (though you could do this if you really really wanted to!)

Worthwhile doing as it gives you some idea about what the car might do at higher speeds with more grip.

Avon ZZ3s on front, some 'orrible no-names on the back that I'm trying hard to wear out!

There's probably a whole other thread on this subject...

unfortunately my rear tyres are slightly better than my fronts, so I only get a small amount of slip before they grip again. I have found however that by making liberal use of the throttle recently in the damp conditions I can do "one point turns", which are very fun indeed.

You misunderstand my gripe over the weather smile I don't mind exploring the limits in varying conditions and would even have a grin with some snow. It's just that I've come from TVR ownership whereby the chassis rots as if its made of balsa wood. So I'm in the habit of keeping the car clean, shiney and dry whenever possible. If I took it out this morning, I'd then be checking the forecast again over the weekend for a dry spell so I can clean it again.

yep, I know what you mean. I had a TVR and tried not to take it out in the wet cos of the potential rust- though I was being lazy in not getting underneath and just undersealing it!

Ive been getting my car sideways for ages now! Its very predictable and progressive tbh

I dont have a garage unfortunately. So the car either stays on the driveway all winter, or i have to store it.
