Hi chaps

Struggling massively

I'm 23, 5 years personal no claims, 6 years driving, no claims convictions health issues or any other things they ask..

I'm finding it very hard to find any company that covers under 25's for a motortrade policy, and when they do, the limititations are useless to me

Ideally I need no insurance group/engine size cap, value of roughly 20k per vehicle and if possible stock and contents insurance..

I'm happy to pay £4000 for the pleasure, but I'm struggling to find anyone. GroupAma will cover me, £2200, but group 31 insurance cap, therefore it's pretty much useless for the things I plan to be dealing with..paying £2200 for a fairly useless policy that will be wasted seems stupid, hence why the budget is more to allow for a decent cover

The main list of people I have tried

Bollington/GroupAma
Aviva
Roadrunner
Tradex

Any help much appreciated

Neither of the above will quote due to age...

Seems Tradex have decided to offer a reasonable price @£3850, which I think I can deal with

Tom have you tried Trade Plan? No idea on age limitations (if any) but no-one else has been able to come anywhere near them at renewal time for me.

The issue will be the lack of MT ncd, AND the age.

The best bet will be to stay with Tradex till over 25 then find a real insurer. Tradex service and cover leaves a lot to be desired;)

But at 23 you don't have many other options

Yep trade plan won't cover under 25's apparently frown

I'm dealing on the phone with everyone, I HATE emailing for things like this!

Fully aware of Tradex and their reputation, but sadly I just need to get a few years under my belt, and that's going to come at a cost...Good job I can (hopefully) justify it..

Trade policy Not normally available to under 25's unless a named driver.
Try one of the brokers who have a trade specialist they will know if anyone can help quite a few (like Covea/MMA) are only available via brokers .

I don't have any form of roadrisk insurance, I only have my own personal private policy (ends in the next few days, hence linking up with a trade policy)

Can you not keep that arrangement til you're 25 then look at trader ins? Presumably the arrangement has worked okay thus far for as long as you've been doing what you do?

Sadly not as I'm going to be doing a lot of trading from now on..financially it makes no sense to be using transport companies anymore..

It will also be handy for collecting and dropping off my Detailing clients cars though!

I've been driving supercars since I was 19, I have incredibly trusting clients & it's a privilege I will never, and have never taken advantage of...MPG becomes the main aim haha

(lots of my clients have any driver policies, hence being able to use them)
