Hi,

My fog light on my TVR Chimaera doesn’t work. There’s no volts getting to the bulb holder at the back of the car, so I suspect there’s a problem with the switch or fuse. The fog light switch doesn’t light up so I assume there’s no power getting to the switch.

I plan on having a look at it tonight so I would like to be prepared. Firstly, where will I find the foglight fuse? Secondly, how do I remove the foglight switch? Do I need to remove that lower section of dash? My car is a facelift, if that matters. I was thinking I could maybe go in through the stereo aperture to save removing the dash if that’s feasible. PS. It's a fairly new dash, so I don't want to damage it!

Hi Dan, Check the fuse first, they are in the n/s footwell with all the other electrics,
And to get to your switch (if you have to) its through the stereo hole as you will remove the dash top and find no access to the lower half!
You may find its something to do with the main beam as iirc the fog light wont work with main beam on, or just the fuse. Hope you sort it and its a simple fix.
Say hi to Ash and will catch up soon

Excellent, thanks.

The car is currently off the road as I let the insurance lapse, so I thought I’d do a few jobs. I will probably get it back on the road for the weekend though!

We’ll have to meet up again soon, let us know if you’re ever over this way.

Simple. When the previous owner had installed the stereo, it had knocked the ribbon cable off the back of the fog light switch.
