Not sure if there is a thread for these guys or not.

Work paid for me to drive some supercars and yesterday was that day.

Driving up to North Weald I was expecting to be limited to how hard I could drive the cars and figured I should enjoy the experience of sitting in/ driving a Ferrari etc.

How wrong was I !

I had an amazing afternoon... the instructors were encouraging me to drive harder and brake later and get the car moving about - it was simply awesome.

Also paid to have a few passenger laps in the supercharged Atom...i'm sat in my office still grinning!

Andy and his team were spot on, I got more from the day than I was expecting and would recommend them to anyone

Sounds like a really good set up.

Do you mind me asking what it cost, and how much seat time you actually got?

Not sure on cost for the original day, as work paid for it.

I paid for an additional 4 laps in the Audi R8, and for 3 laps (passenger) in the supercharged Atom - think all the additional cost me an extra £100 - something like that.

Car time is limited, the track is an airfield with a few cones laid out and its not very big, maybe a mile at a guess. But in that time you have a few opportunities to open them up and throw them about a bit.

They do have some non supercars up there that are cheaper to drive, I would recommend that you pay for a couple of laps in one of them to "learn" the circuit. I spent the first 2 laps in the Ferrari looking for cones etc.

Once I knew where I was going it was time for the Aston, which was so much fun. I suspect I would have enjoyed the Ferrari more had I known the track.

The day was brilliant, you wont leave there disappointed.

Better than everyman racing! Someone paid for me to do the ultimate super car experience which was around 600quid! Always being told to change up early, not allowed to go at any kind of speed in the corners and I paid to have the video too, which one was set wrong so you couldn't see where I was driving or myself, no refund for it.

I was obviously very grateful for the gift but it was a total rip off!

Would love to the Palmer sport day! That is mentioned to be awesome.

I had a similar experience with everyman racing, i drive harder with my nan in the car than what they would let me on their race track,.
I was looking forward to the day and everything about it was an utter let down including the video.

Just to balance this thread a little, I personally had an enjoyable experience with everyman racing.

I think it's really down to the instructor you get on the day, i had 4 different instructors, 2 who constantly pushed me to drive the car harder (what I wanted), letting me overtake a lot of people, and 2 who were not so good, and as a result i didn't really feel that i was driving anything special. One of them was on my first time around the track when I lacked confidence. As a result the instructor didn't really push me, probably the right thing to do to be fair. They have very little time to judge the participants' abilities...

Clearly they are not going to let you rag the cars, but i was very happy with the day overall.
