Bit of a silly question.

Has any of you put a toddler car seat in before. Im sure it will fit in the seat width, just wondering - it would make it a lot easier to sell to the boss that I need to go out for a drive :-)

Take the car to mothercare, they'll let you try a range that are bound to fit. there seem to be more out there now which fit bucket seats etc. Presume you have the normal seatbelts as well as harness ?

Yes, I've taken my daughter out quike a few times with her seat, she is now in a booster seat and haven't tried that yet. One thing you have to be careful of is the position of the seat belt buckle due to the retainer part of the belt on the Noble being long. Good option would be to take it to the likes of Halfords and try a few different ones.

I use one of these: http://www.preciouslittleone.com/product-informati...

I ensure the seat is fully forward to ensure the seat belt buckle is behind the seat. I wasn't happy with the normal baby seat configuration i.e. seat belt goes through the back of the baby seat. The shape of the Noble seats and the path the belt would take would move the baby seat forward. (hope this makes sense!)

+1 - don't do it!

I attended a talk last week by Adrian Hobbs (see below) - he basically set up NCAP in the UK that became EuroNCAP and has 30 years in testing. Amongst lots of very interesting information he showed some surprising crash evidence.

I understand the NCAP scoring but does include pradestrian criteria. Surely with the Noble so low a head on would cause the other car to rise and go up the car. This inst good on a normal car but the Nobles role cage would stop roof caving in.

Also du to there being nothing in the front then this is a great crumple zone and I believe the role cage runs under the dash also.

Not sure about a era render but still a good bit of chassis to crumple before pushing engine in.

Not so confident on side impact.

From what we have seen from crashed Nobles it seems they hold up very well.

Just my opinion.

Martin, they showed the results of post crash baby seats and their anchoring locations - these were on cars from major manufacturers with tons more safety testing than a Noble - not pleasant! They guy said he would never buy a baby seat unless the manufacturer had tested it for use in his specific car.

Just saying...

So basically your screwed anyway as I'm not aware of baby seats being specifically tested in every car?

Safety features are all well and good but even in a top safe car if you have airbags they have to be
Turned off when using a baby seat.

I take everyone's point about belt position though.

The thing is, if you look at it and take precautions based on what you have then you should be ok (what I mean is, don't just throw the seat in). Because if you really want to be safe then don't go out in the world.

I for one will be taking my son out in the Noble when he is old enough, but probably only to Good wood and the odd car meet so not great distances.

Yes mate, that was his basic position - you're screwed in this case! Not a perfect world - bloke also said he'd never get on a motorcycle after viewing their stats. Of course I know sometimes you have to just live which is why I still drive a car with a couple sheets of plastic between my left shoulder and the outside world yikes
