I would like to/need to adjust both my doors as they seem to have dropped and nearly catch when closing.

Whats the process. Also bearing in mind they were adjusted at the begining of the year and seem to have dropped again?

Did you grease the grease nipples too in the hinge?

It might be a symptom of the chassis rubber packers perishing or (let's hope not) the mounting points rotting underneath.

To adjust the doors you need to get a spanner on the bolts on the A post and loosen them, then you can pull the door about a bit and/or put a shim underneath before retightening.

Hi Mate...If the door has dropped again then it might be a case that the nylon bushing's inside the hinges have become oval...Would love to know where to get replacements as my drivers doors is hanging a bit also...Cheers...Ziga

<Rummaging in loft for old door sketches>

Mark, spanners are so cheap in places like Aldi that you can afford to sacrifice a few to make just about anything accessible (except maybe the power of a V6 whistlewink )...

Ah bu99eration, I can't find the door frame sketch that I made when I had the Tasmin resprayed way back when (the doors were taken off and I stripped the frames so noted the bush dimensions). I know it's a top-hat bush and IIRC the bore is 1/2 inch, the 'rim' OD will be a bit more than the steel hinge tube (inch and a quarter?) and the inner length won't be critical (probably 1 to 1.5 inch) but the ID will be.
Anyone got a door in bits? biggrin
