I may be keeping a car off the roads for several months ,and would ask if anyone has done this
what they do about insuring the vehicle? If anyone has done this what were they charged for insurance
which I am guessing it would generally be limited to the fire and theft. I guess people who have a collection of cars not all of which will be used, might use this type of insurance info available.

For the TVR it cost me about £125 for the year. Covered fire, theft and any damage that may occur while not on the road.

Can you accumulate no claims with that?

You might find it cheaper to add it to your home contents insurance than take out a separate policy.

Hi all. I got some quotes from several companies but it seems `laid up' policies are only
really used for classic cars where the vehicle at most just gets taken to an MOT station
once a year which it would be covered for.
Some premiums seemed quite good, and hardly more than was being asked for the laid up policies
so I guess I might just go for one of them, which at least lets me run the car for more than a few yards to keep it in good working order. the road tax is low so its hardly worth cancelling it
and trying to claim a refund.
But again thank you for your replies.
