That is horrific news and incredibly sad.
Sean was without doubt one of the world's most talented drivers. He was competing in arguably one of the most challenging race series on the planet and was winning. Traditionally British drivers have never been able to make the step up to supercup. Winners of the UK Porsche cup series languished mid pack when they expanded their horizons. Sean dominated proceedings.
He clearly loved Motorsport, racing was his life and why not when you have such talent. He was also generous in sharing that talent with others and it would seem that generosity was his demise.
Sean was a young man with his whole life still to look forward to. No words can make up for the loss his friends and family will be feeling at this time.
Sean was a regular poster on here and I remember ribbing him about his profile photo when he started out in Supercup. I joked that he looked like a schoolboy. Woe betide any fellow competitors who thought they could take advantage of his tender years. He answered by delivering where it mattered - on track. You can't get better than pole and you can't improve on first place.

That is terrible news - what a tragic loss of a great driver. I've watched and re-watched hundreds of times the footage of him dominating the Nurburgring: he was such an exciting, inspiring driver.
Yeah, me too. I would watch that footage over and over and it was like he was playing Gran Turismo on easy setting - an immense talent, very sad to hear this news.
Terrible.Just to add, he'd won the 24Hrs of Dubai, 24Hrs of the 'ring and was leading the Porsche Supercup Championship this year - truly an international racing great, even at his young age.
The terrible irony is that only in recent months he helped and was in the background in the film 'Rush' all about the dangers of motorsport. Not everyone knows, but his father Guy Edwards was one of the F1 drivers who pulled Lauda from his burning car.
