Exclusive Jaguar R Performance event

Join PistonHeads and Jaguar at Oulton Park next week!

Hot on the heels of our recent Maserati preview evening, we are proud to be able to invite PHers to attend another exclusive event when we join Jaguar at Oulton Park on Tuesday 22nd October.

Billed at the R Performance event, it will come as no surprise to learn that we'll have the pinnacle of the Jaguar range available to sample including XFR, XFR-S, XKR-S, XJR and the XKR-S GT. A stellar line up you'll surely agree, and here's everything you need to know about each car:

XKR-S

The XKR-S is an extreme expression of Jaguar’s passion for building beautiful, fast cars. The effortless performance of its supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, combined with a bespoke fuelling map means the direct-injection powerplant now produces 550hp and 502lb ft of torque. Extensive tuning has ensured that power delivery and performance are seamless, contributing to a 0-60mph time of 4.2 seconds. The performance active exhaust encourages and rewards the enthusiastic driver with dramatic, motorsport-inspired aural feedback.

XKR-S GT

The XKR-S GT, developed by Jaguar’s Engineered To Order division, is the ultimate road-going but track-ready version of the XK coupe. The XKR-S GT features bespoke aerodynamic components and suspension developments to increase downforce and optimise high-speed cornering ability. It will reach 60mph in just 3.9 seconds, develops up to 145kg of downforce, and is the first production Jaguar to be fitted with carbon ceramic brakes. Production will be limited and just ten examples will be sold to UK customers, making it the rarest ‘R’ model in the 25-year history of Jaguar’s R performance cars.

XFR-S

The XFR-S is Jaguar’s fastest, most powerful and agile sports saloon ever. Power and torque of the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 have been increased to 550hp and 502lb ft – up 40hp and 41lb ft over the XFR, and with no impact on fuel consumption or emissions. The XFR-S will sprint from zero to 60mph in 4.4 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds) and on to an electronically limited top speed of 186mph. An eight-speed transmission with ‘Quickshift’ functionality enables optimal acceleration throughout the speed and rev ranges. Electronic active differential and Dynamic Stability Control systems have also been recalibrated to enhance handling characteristics.

XJR

The 550hp XJR – Jaguar’s new flagship sports saloon – combines supercar performance and assertive looks with the high levels of luxury already associated with the XJ range. It is capable of sprinting from zero to 60mph in 4.4 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 174mph. An eight-speed automatic transmission, with a bespoke tuning for the XJR, enables optimal acceleration throughout the speed and rev ranges while still maintaining a composed character for urban driving conditions. A new front splitter and aerodynamic sill section combined with an additional rear spoiler and unique ‘R’ bonnet louvres give the car optimum levels of high speed stability and an assertive appearance on the road. Electronic Active Differential and Dynamic Stability Control systems have been calibrated to enhance handling characteristics, allowing the driver to fully exploit the XJR’s true performance capability.

We'll meet the lucky chosen PHers at Oulton Park at 10.30 where they will be able to take the cars on track, under expert tuition, through to 14.30 with lunch at 12.30 being the only reason to pit!

Spaces are limited to just 35 places on the day but we welcome interest from all PHers, with a particular (but not exclusive) interest to hear from owners of the following vehicles:

  • Porsche Panamera
  • BMW M5
  • BMW M6
  • Audi S and RS 5/6
  • Mercedes-Benz E-Class and S-Class AMG models

To register your interest in attending please complete the form below no later than 12.00 on Thursday 17 October.

Note that driver will need to be aged 28 and over with at least 2 years uninterrupted driving experience and no more than 6 points to comply with Jaguar insurance stipulations.

XKR-S, XKR-S GT, XFR, XFR-S, XJR. Oh dear. I may have to hand back my man card. This list is nothing more than a confused collection of jumbled letters to me and I can't visualise any of the cars they are supposed to represent. I know there's a four door saloon in there and I suspect one of them is a sporty coupe, but I'm fairly sure the new baby Jaguar isn't on that list. Or is it?
I don't know what these cars are. frown

Done.

As I've got an M135i, I should be guaranteed a spot on comedy grounds alone....

Just a quick question - is this event designed to be an event for potential / future customers (i.e. only apply if you drive a comparable car) or is this more of a general competition for all PH'ers to apply for? I don't want to waste anyones time applying given that I'm not a target customer.. (even though I LOVE all the new jags!).

I know the blurb says otherwise - but when I drive a £2,000 VW am I realistically even likely to get selected?

We'll choose a mixture of both, but we will be selecting some guests because of the cars they drive currently.

Applied. Love Oulton Park circuit, bet it's immense in a XKR-S/GT (and of course all of the others)

ETA - when will we find out? Just need to book the day off if I'm one of the lucky ones.

Also, just realised there's no F-type there. I know they're technically not an 'R', but would have loved a blast round Oulton in the V8S. Have a word Garlick wink

With regards to the short list, a 550i counts, right (?!) hehe

Looks like a rather nice day out.

Don't currently own a Jag but keep being nagged by the wife to go back to them.

I'm the wrong end of the country, but would be happy to swan up north in the Jag - keen to get close to the new products to see what's what smile
