wheels and winter tyres

Hi all. Does anyone know where to source cheap-ish 14" wheels to fit some winter tyres?
Don't want to open a can of warms on winter tyres. My seven will be spending the winter in italy close to the coast, so dry-ish but cold tarmac makes difficult for summer tyres to reach operating temperature. Cannot find winter tyres for 13" and having magnesium wheels the idea of any salt terrorize me. ..

I know you said you don't want to open a can of worms but I would question the need for winter tyres on a car which isn't going to be driven in the snow or ice, or even the wet.
Having said that, some 'trackday' type tyres really don't like cold temperatures as supposedly they can permanently damage the rubber.
What tyres are you using at the moment?
Regarding wheels, you car probably has a Ford 108x4 PCD so find a wheel which is big enough to clear the brakes and has roughly the right offset and you're done... You could probably get some old spare steel wheels off eBay or something.

Look harder, they are certainly available in Norway, predominantly in 175/70-13 but still should elicit enough fun in cold conditions!http://www.prisjakt.no/product.php?p=1048337#rpara...

Winter tyres work well in all cold conditions south of about 5-6deg - they are nice and soft so retain better grip & feel than harder all season / summer tyres.. In fact driving on a new set in too warm conditions can feel a bit like driving on jelly babies..Edited by Farlig on Wednesday 16th October 18:26

I was not planning the use on wet and i might try cr500 as suggested. But i agree with the comment above, under a certain temperature winter tyres IMHO performs better out of track.

resently running r888 that tbh might be a bit old.
Farlig: So how do i go about ordering tyres from norway on 13"? Might be fun to run 204hp on 175 though

Best would be to find a set you like & give the seller a call - everyone here under the age of 70+ speaks excellent English, a lot of them better than me & English is my mother tongue If you need any help in tracking down stores / phone numbers let me know ;-)
204 brake through a 175 winter tyre in cold conditions will teach you all you need to know about throttle control
