Hello everyone
Just joined the PH forum basically to ask a couple of questions. (nothing commercial or juvenile) I'm aware that they might be stupid, or possibly unanswerable, but I'm trying to track down some people. (Its related to a serious crime from a long time ago). I'm not police, vigilante or anythign similar, just researching. I'm also asking this forum because you're experts.
The Volvo 343. I understand it was introduced to the UK in 1975. Would this have been for sale in Scotland in this year as well as England? Or would it be a later year?
Does anyone know which Scottish dealers sold it?
The VW Golf. Again,in troduced to the UK in 1974. Would this have been for sale in Scotland in this year as well as in England? Or would it be a later year. And again, does anyone know which Scottish dealers sold it.
And a question for both makes of car. Do car dealers keep sale records going back that far?
I hope this post has met the standards of the forum. I was a lurker and some of the posts on here are superb. Thank in advance of any replies, and thanks for the laughs in the past.

As far as I'm aware yes both cars would have been introduced into all parts of the UK at the same time.Does anyone know which Scottish dealers sold it?

Almost certainley no will be the answer to that (I seem to recall 7 years was all they were obliged by law to keep them for)If a dealer was a long term family owned dealership with an OCD issue, you might be lucky (I knew of a long term family owned Peugeot dealership (ex Chrysler/Rootes etc before that) that had records back to the sixties, but even if you were that lucky, they would still not divulge any of those details to anyone bar Police etc - as I know from my dealings with said Peugeot dealer above)
