Sony Bravia - set up advice

This will probably sound stupid, but could do with a bit of help with setting up a TV. The father in law is pretty unwell so isn't getting out of bed much. We've sorted a tv out for him in his bedroom (Sony Bravia 32" LCD thing) and had an aerial fitted so he can watch Freeview. So far, so good & he's happy.

He loves movies though, so I had a DVD player spare & took it round today so he could watch a film. Connected it up via SCART, all works perfectly - apart from in the corner of the screen there is an on-screen display saying "AV1-DVD". It's definitely an issue with the TV as it disappears when I access the Sony menu but it comes back & stays there.

I've RTFM and it does mention the "AV1-DVD" as an on-screen display but doesn't say anything about getting rid of it.

Any ideas how to get rid of it chaps?

My father in law has said he doesn't mind, but to be honest, if I asked him should I smash the screen with a shoe he'd also say the same thing!

I think there is a button on the remote marked with i that might clear it, had this on an old telly and did sort it out so hope this right.
