Change of 993 Tiptronic original steering wheel - Help!

Hi there.

First post-ever, as I've just bought a 993 Targa Tiptronic (1997) and loving it! Works needed on it but that's part of the fun.

I do want to get rid of that ugly steering wheel for something nicer and also because I'm quite tall and would like something smaller to have more space for my legs...

Questions are:
- Is there a risk of generating malfunction if I change the existing Tiptronic steering wheel for a different one (as mentioned to me by a specialist...)
- which models can I go for that will have Tiptronic + airbag in 3 spoke
- where can I find sizes of different models as I do need something smaller than what I have today for legs space.
