I have been weighing up the pros and cons of a few cars recently with a view to historic stage rallying. Does anyone have any experience rallying 911's at a grass roots level, in terms of reliability/weak spots/running costs etc etc. I am looking to buy a car already prepped to go so initial set up cost should be limited. I will only do a few events a year and purely for the enjoyment, so being super competitive along with the mechanical punishment that goes with it shouldn't be too much of an issue I hope. All opinions welcome.

If you haven't already spoken with them, Tuthill's are a wealth of knowledge on all thing involving rallying a 911.

I'd speak to Robert Gant at www.gantspeed.co.uk He is a Porsche genius and used to look after my Dad's rally cars back in the day.
