I stood and gazed at the outside of it the other day, but decided instead to go for lunch at the bakery 20 yards away over the river. It looks very small...

"Brum" the car lives at Bourton on the water museum - not a bad little museum.

We went in the summer. That's actually quite a lot there and it's pretty good for kids as each area has something for them to play with while you look around. Don't forget to look up as some of the rooms are literally stacked to the rafters.

Went there last month and really enjoyed it. It's bigger than it looks, about 7 rooms in all. Took us about 2 hours to get round but could have stayed longer. The amount of memorabilia hung all over the walls and ceiling is amazing. Well worth the 4 quid or so to get in.

Bugger. Wish we'd gone in now.

You really should have, it's one of the most interesting motor museums in the UK. Not the biggest by a long way but well worth a visit.

Thanks for that guys, enough to convince me to go thumbup

I did York national railway museum on Tuesday, hadn't been before and not really a rail enthusiast but wow, what a place, and what a presence the place puts out, I can very much recommend if you haven't been before, even if you're not a rail/train enthusiast, trust me you will be in ore of the place, it will leave a lasting impression, I know I will return soon, and spend more time there.

It's a great little museum. The curator, Michael Tambini, was previously at London Transport Museum and has really transformed the place since it was taken over by CSMA. Prior to that, it was pretty chaotic, but it's much more sane now.

I've been, really enjoyed it. Lots of toys and electronic bits and pieces to look at as well.

They had this when I was there https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/3...

Ah well - it's only about 40 minutes down the road for us. We'll go again and perhaps call into the Air Museum at Moreton-in-Marsh on the same trip. That's another one I've stood and gazed at before my stomach got the better of me. That's why I'm a fat b*stard, I suppose... smile

This, it is definitely worth a visit. It may not look like the largest building from the outside but you an easily spend well over an hour in there. It's not just cars and bikes it's the amount of motoring memorabilia in there that requires a keen eye.

Just got back from the museum, and I can report and agree with what you all say, what a fabulous place and very deceiving from the outside, it's quite big, I spent an hour in there and could have stayed longer but I wanted to beat rush hour on the M5, should have gone earlier.
The journey through Cheltenham though is a nightmare, so many cars not enough space, not helped by the amount of traffic lights.
