Odd topic but on the way to PHHQ it struck me that I never use the steering wheel controls for audio etc (in any car) as I find it easier to use the main controls on the dash.

Most cars are test cars so the option wasn't specced by me, but I just never use it. Cruise control gathers dust more often than not too...

Any others.

I don't think I've ever used the heated mirrors on the Octavia. Or the front fog-lights, for that matter.

I never use cruise control.

Though my car now has pretty much no options...it's as basic as they come! And everything it has (heater, heated rear windscreen, high beam etc etc, I use!).

In my Audi A8, I rarely used the phone, never watched the TV, didn't need the satellite navigation, was always deploying the rear blind, loved the seat heaters, rarely used the ski hatch etc etc).

Apparently I have a wi-fi hot spot in my car. Never used that.

Sat Nav - Only on long journeys
Tape deck - never
CD Changer - never
iPod integration - always (after I've got it working!)
Sunroof - whenever its not raining
Bluetooth - never (not synced and rapidly uses phone battery)
Folding Mirrors - Always when parking away from home
Cruise - Use all the time
Steering controls - Use all the time
TV - No use - analogue

I never use the heated seats or the back massage, and will never ever use the parking space measurement thing, but that's probably because I have a functioning penis.

It was quite the opposite for me, my one reservation about getting rid of my Pug was that I'd lose the steering wheel controls, I used them all the time.

Other than that I've never had a car fancy enough to have extra stuff I didn't use.

Never used the aircon nor the iPod or phone connection thing. Probably a few others things as well but if can't be arsed to read the manual to find out what funky stuff it can do I doubt I really need this stuff.

Presume you must park in a garage? Heated mirrors work quite well with heavy dues and frosts. Either that you have to go and scrape, wipe them in the morning to use them. Either that or do as many do and don't bother or look behind you hehe

Afraid most of my cars don't really have any features. Certainly nothing like steering mounted radio controls. A few of the vehicles don't even have stereos.

Air con is probably the only thing I have but don't use. If it's warm the roof comes off, if it isn't, then you don't really need air con.

All the cars I've owned which have had heated mirrors have turned them on and off with the rear screen demister.

I don't use the following:

- Parking sensors (cos' they've packed up, again)
- Bluetooth connectivity to phone
- Cruise control
- Voice command

I do, however, make full use of the heated seats.

But surely you have to clear the side-windows by hand anyway so why not do the mirrors at the same time? Or do you drive everywhere in the winter with the windows open until the heat from the car melts them. hehe

Interesting point... if the Octavia tries to do that then they don't work anyway. hehe

Aircon - its gubbed so doesnt do anything the heater doesnt but adds a wet dog smell to the car whilst doing it

Rear parking sensors - they beep all the time whilst reversing cause one is gubbed

TDS - that the traffic management update thing on the radio? Not interested in having my tunes interrupted to hear Radio Scotland telling me about a loose sheep on a road 300 miles away

Isofix mounts - Kids: none of my own and nobody trusts me with their's

I like the steering wheel mounted volume control and miss it in SWMBO car, but I've never used Hill Descent Control (although the kids occasionally turn it on smile) I have needed low range though.

Don't they activate automatically at a certain temperature? They seem to on my Passat, and they're very effective.

As for the OP, I never use the tape deck as I don't have any hehe
