Mk3 MX5 Drain holes, wind noise
Discussion
Posted in GG but thought id post here aswell..
Picked up my 2005 MX5 yesterday and noticed alot of road noise coming from the passenger side. After some googling i have gathered the drain hole flaps werent closing. Ive poured alot of water down and its coming out the bottom so draining isnt a problem, there was a thread on another forum refering to it as a seashell noise, quite echoey and you can hear the engine and road noise coming from one side of the car.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Thinking of doing this that i read on another forum..
"I bought a coarse filter pack for aquariums, stuffed some up from underneath the car (not so long as to disrupt the rubber valve - if it is still working) and then stuck the last bit over the top vents (with a modern wonder called 'Bluetack'.) Just been out for a run and what a difference, I can hear myself think and would now be prepared to undertake a long run without earplugs. Oh and I did test it and water does flow readily through to exit under the car"
