Dyeing carpet of my Tamora this weekend - advice please

Having read various other threads I have decided to give this a go whilst the weather is still ok. The car has dark blue , sun bleached carpets and following advice on other threads I have bought Dylon hand dye. Can anyone confirm what dilution you have used? On the packet it says dilute in 500ml and then add to 6 litres of water to soak clothing. Should I just use 500ml solution on the carpet? I can't imagine it would be too dark, but am concerned it might not adhere properly if I make it too strong...

Did it last year but with fabric paint not Dillon £75 all in and 2 hours 100% better

Dont i tried my Tam carpet few years ago and i had blue legs for months i used dylon navy three different attempts did it in summer and used dehumidifier in garage.It was awful.
I used DC trimmers and had new carpets put in.

Wow, that is a hell of an improvement! Did you use spray on stuff? Can you remember where from?

Thanks, carpet is perfect except lightly sun bleached so not keen to change. Previous threads have shown people very impressed by Dylon - but now even keener to check correct mixture strength.... Can anyone help?

Thanks, I've just pulled the seats out - bit of a sod as the front supposedly captive nuts weren't so had to be ground off. Hoping to tackle the job this weekend weather permitting. I've bought dark blue Dylon, it says on the packet dilute in 500ml of water and then add that to six litres to dye a single shirt. No idea what strength to use, but having bought the stuff keen to try. Any advice from those who have tried it appreciated

I used a carpet dye with a paintbrush. I think it would have been even better had I waited a day in between coats, but I'm too impatient! I felt a little coarse after painting, so I then used a very stiff brush to lift/ fluff the pile again.

As for the seats, they were airbrushed.

How did it go?

Cleaned all the carpets from my Taimar last week and wasn't until I put the "boot" carpet next to the others I realised how faded it is, must be all the sun through that back window.

Spray on fabric dye is the way to go. Been 6 months or so since i did it and it still looks like new.
Best £60.00 ive spent on the car.

Sorry for delayed reply, I've been away. I'm really pleased with the results of the Dylon - or at least I expect to be, I haven't seen the car since I applied it, but it was transformed. If I can work out how to post before and after pics I will do a bit later. In the end I applied it with a paint brush and diluted one packet in 500ml of warm water. I found it sprayed everywhere and that the best approach was to allow the dye to soak from the paint brush into the carpet, rather than try and paint it on. Certainly looked good before I went away and will hopefully now be fully dry - hope to go and check out the car tomorrow. The interior is about to benefit from another, much more expensive upgrade - just having the seats totally retrimmed too
