^ are you going for the record of profile name changes?! smile

What are the reasons against giving F1 its own sub-forum? Seems quite logical to me.

Why not a sub forum for GT, rallying, Formula 3, Formula Ford, Historic racing etc?

I like to have my motorsport muddled.

In fact, one of the problems with F1 is that it has cut itself adrift from the rest of the motorsport world and, in its own way, having a separate forum for F1 only exacerbates that.

Will the "F1" forum be purely for discussions on the current F1 scene or will discussions on other aspects of F1 - such as its history, or Grand Prix racing in general (i.e. GP racing before F1) need to go into the F1 forum too?

That's my guess.

Because they don't need their own forums Eric? Not enough content? I can't see a single reason why F1 should not have its own section.

I see it as akin to creating the Football forum. Housekeeping.

I just hate pigenholing.

I love serendipity. Having a mixed up general approach to things is far more enlightening.

My hunch is that I will probably go to the F1 forum LESS than the Motorpsort Forum because it will become the preserve of the fan boys and their silly debates,

Where will the discussions on films like "Rush" or "Senna" end up?

Or a discussion on the merits of Carraciola v' Nuvolari or Moss v' Fangio?

Should the Football forum be re-integrated back into Sports?

Do you reckon the regular footballist posters (of which you are not one) would agree with you?

Guess why I'm not a regular football poster?

I HATE everything being railroaded into narrow interest sub-fora.

I love more general fora where you discover things by accident and get involved in discussions you might not otherwise have come across.

And indeed, LEARN stuff you might not have been aware of before.

My favourite forums are those where the interest area is fairly wide and not too narrowly defined.

But it is! So it is only right that it should be.

Perhaps if there was a business thread it could correctly be slotted in there.

I'm sure I won't have any other option.

But I still won't like it.

I am told that this was a consequence of the recently signed Concorde Agreement.
