HELP...GRIFF...WIFE..AAAAARRRGGGHHH

Greetings All,

I have a lovely Cerbera and now my wife is starting to nag that she wants a Griff. What do I do? She never drives mine because 'it is too scary' so will the griff be any different? Should I fob her off or should I give in. I spend a fortune on the Cerb so will I be making a rod for my own back?

Nice one Dave but I think that would scare me! I will not be getting rid of Cerbs, he will be mine, the Griff will be in addition. Wifey has not done any driving course other than her Police course. I think it is the whole car, warts and all that puts her off the Cerbera. Not wishing to sound patronising but is the Griff a 'nice' car? The Cerbera is great fun, fast, noisy etc etc but I wouldn't exactly call it 'nice' if you see what I mean. It is a little too aggressive. I am eating humble pie here and trying not to imply that the Griff is a girls car but do many girls have them?

No doubt that Griff scarier than Cerby. Far more twitchy on bumpy roads etc.

Thanks folks. Will have to get her in one in the near future so she can make her own mind up (fat chance). We have been out in the Cerbera a lot recently and the nagging is almost as loud as the engine!

I belive Griffs are cheaper to run. And you can get the roof off. And they sound better.

My girlfriend has a Griff

We share it - one week its hers and one week its mine... She says that it would be a bit much to drive it all the time.

I find the Griff a bit unrefined over really rough B roads (Pothole every 100 yards type) but it is a great car to drive on A roads, good B roads and the M-way.

I don't find the Griff particularly scary, but it does get exciting sometimes in the wet when there's leaves on the road...

Why do *you* have to buy a griff "for her" anyway? Aren't major purchases joint decisions in your household? Were you 'nagging' when you (if you) talked to her about buying the Cerbera?

There was a thread last week asking how many women have a Griff - if this is a serious thread and not just another 'hey chaps haven't we got big cahones to drive one of these' threads, why not mail the ladies who replied and ask them for their advice? Plenty of lady PHers have got Chimaeras too - better still, why not suggest to your wife that she contacts them, gets a bit of insight and then goes out test driving. Then you're both better informed to have a serious discussion about it.

Nah - She wouldn't get nuffink after he counter sued her for mental cruelty for suggesting he got rid of his Cerb.

PS If he earns the dosh then he gets to decide where it goes - what are you one of those bleedin' wimmins libbers or wot?

PPS Unlucky for me my old mare brings in nearly as much as me - and now she wants to swap the Cerb for a Jag - ain't nuffink sacred to birds?

Reading elsewhere Mel, I got the impression you were going to be busy with Podie on Saturday night

CwC - you make a very good point. So this means that if I get some bloke and keep him at home doing all my cleaning, cooking, gardening, DIY etc and carried on working myself, I could just kick him out and give him bugger all once the house is how I want it (I mean, the money's mine - I earned it)? I like the cut of your jib my man - are you married by any chance? Any good with wiring?
