Stone Sour

I've got Come what may and really like Coreys vocals.

Which album of theirs should I buy next,bearing in mind I'm not a huge metal head. Some of slipknots stuff is ok,but not really my cup if tea.

I am sure you have realised that the singer from Slipknot and Stone Sour is the same person.

Have a look at Shinedown, Avenged Sevenfold, Creed, System of a Down...they all have different styles which you may like (or not as the case may be) I reckon Shinedown would be the closest to Stone Sour mix of heavy and soft/melodic, and they do a great (imo) Simple Man cover.

Audio Secrecy is a good album too. Their newest ones aren't very impressive to me, sounds really generic.

Dont like AS or Creed TBH. Quite like SOAD tho.

I was shocked when I first found this out as I'm really not into SK, SS on the other hand are very good. I'd 2nd the idea of Shinedown, excellent. A good idea to look for on youtube and then follow various links whole evenings can be lost finding new groups this way. Another one I liked from a year or 2 back was Poets of the Fall "Carnival of Rust"

I like all of the S/sour albums, though the most recent is my least favourite. Shockingly good vocals.

Corey Taylor is the vocalist for a new supergroup "Kings of Chaos". The lineup includes Slash, Matt Sorum, and Duff McKagan from GnR/Velvet Revolver.

This might be worth a listen too.

Its a song from Dave Grohl's film "Sound City" he made an album with all the artists that had recorded at the Sound City Studio, one of which was Corey. In fairness that whole album is worth a listen.

Yes, listen to all of the Stonesour albums, wasn't that impressed with House of Gold and Bones pt1, but pt2 is pretty bloody good. On balance. I think Audio Secrecy is your next port of call. Still kicking myself for not going to see them when they played locally last year!

That's good stuff. Apocalyptica are good too: I liked their Metallica covers a few years back.
