Weekend Breakfast - Central London

Looking for suggestions of somewhere to have breakfast in central London during the weekend. I liked the sound of Duck & Waffle and the location is perfect but the menu seems limited and I don't like how the kitchen don't allow substitutions. Any ideas?

Duck and Waffle is good, but it really depends what you are looking for. The view is great, yes, but you definitely want a table by the window. And the breakfast is good in terms of ingredients, but to be honest, a pretty meagre portion size [something like 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 toast, 1 black pudding, 1 tiny spoonful of bean, 1 hash brown].

I'd recommend something like the Delaunay or Dean St Townhouse instead, and have also heard great things about breakfast at Roast as mentioned above [haven't had breakfast there, but can confirm it's a great place for lunch].

Wolesely - our favourite and probably consistently the best.

Bills - a chain and also much more casual but still good.

Raouls- only been once and again its casual but decent breakfast.

Harrods - on the 5 the floor next to the carvery there is a very good restaurant which served us excellent eggs forester.


Automat - in Mayfair - up market american style breakfast.


Christopher's - Covent garden - heard good things about this place and will be visiting soon.

Smiths of Smithfield - ground floor cafe. Not fancy but good quality full english, eggs benedict etc. Farringdon is nearest tube station.

Breakfast club (various branches), the one in Angel gets a bit rammed though

Delauney is good, Riding House Cafe also good. Nopi does a good breakfast as does Hix just round the corner, Hawksmoor in St Pauls is the one that does breaky and is great. Roast is good, but save some room for a Monmouth coffee from over the road

Providores is overated, went for lunch the other day and thought it was meh and stuffy full of bored milfs.

Duck And Waffle isn't all that zaney breakfast wise, but its not bad, and obviously has the view etc.

Full English with tea, toast, fruit juice, cereals etc. in a Central London restaurant seems fine to me.

Writing this from Bills in Hoxton. Rather nice breakfast, thanks for the suggestions!

Went to Breakfast Club in Angel first, rammed with a huge queue. Then headed to the Hoxton branch, same story. Walked round the corner and straight into the branch of Bills. No wait for a table of 6. Well cooked grub and the right portion size.

Or go for plain and simple English breakfast at the Regency Cafe in errr.......Regency Street, off Horseferry Road.
As seen in Layer Cake, so ticks many PH boxes.
