On Thursday it's my partner's birthday and as it's half term and the kids (2 and 5 and a half) I want to plan a day out by Train.

Can anyone provide a little guidance as to what is on or is near Sheffield, Doncaster or Cleethorpes train stations so I can plan a day out without making them all walk miles from the stations please?

Thank you

JTW

Thats a possibility. We're travelling from Shorpe with 2 small children so it is going to be very weather dependent.

Train is preferable but I'll drive if necessary

Any other suggestions?

Get a straight through train from scunny to Doncaster 35 mins and then trains fro, Doncaster to York 20 mins. I live in the area and out of your choice I'd either go yo York or stay at home.

Cleethorpes season is over so any entertainment you could find there will be shut, nothing near Doncaster or Sheffield stations only shopping areas really.

Just drive to York and have a great day out. Doncaster Station is next to the Frenchgate Centre which is a poor man's Meadowhall. Nothing worth doing in the centre with 2 children.

York on the other hand is fantastic. So is Leeds.

But don't forget the OP's from Shorpe, so anywhere else is a good day out hehe

Yes do this.

Your OH will like the shopping in the centre too, and the Shambles is nice.
