Is a 140,000 mile B5 (2.7 twin-turbo) going to financially destroy me?

It does have full history mind you....

Check if the turbos have been replaced recently, At 140k they could go at any time, and are about £2k to to replace.

You need the turbos to be ok as you need to remove the engine to get to them, a recent cam belt change too as you have to take the front off for that. Mine did 26mpg ish and consumables were cheap from gsf etc. Was on 160k when I sold it last year and is still going strong, they can easily be run for a reasonable budget if you can wave a spanner about.
