Renault Clio 172 cup - Iceberg silver
Discussion
I've been on here a bloody long time now, and I haven't actually ever done one of these before. Maybe it's because I can now (at the grand old age of 21) actually insure enthusiast type cars...
The car itself has done 65k miles, so relatively low for a 172, and is 1 of 90 registered in this particular colour.

It's as it came out of the factory apart from 30MM lowering springs, which IMO set the car off nicely. I do have a few plans for it over the coming months, but nothing exterior wise apart from a smaller front plate measured to fit the recess.

Can you pick up a decent example of these with £2000 or am I well off the mark? I'm a similar age to you and having sold my MX-5, am looking for a fun 5 seat car (that can seat 4 with relative comfort) for track days and driving trips.
For a cup you're looking at just over 2k for a decent example, but if you want a normal 172 you can pick up a good one for 1500 quid. Just make sure you check when the all important belts were done!

Are the belts a big expensive job?
I have access to a garage with lifts if they are needed

Adam you're only in Chester, if you're free on the tenth of November, come down to curborough (Lichfield) and I'll take you out in it.
(Should be other interesting stuff there too
)
No reason why i shouldn't be free so yes i will take you up on that offer, nice one (Should be other interesting stuff there too
)
I actually live in a little village called Weston, just outside of Crewe so not far from you.
