Hello folks,

Have just had 12k service done, checked oil quantity of morning of trip (full) and set out from Yaaarkshire to Anglesey. Mid A55 (Wales) absolutely cane it in 3rd but as revs increased past 4000?? (engine getting loud) MIL comes on. Foot off loud pedal and keep revs fairly low for rest of journey. Next morning check oil (full) go out for burn and this time no MIL at all. Has anyone had random/spurious MILs (not MILFs!) or does anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers

My MIL comes on when it's damp - after rain or heavy dew. Used to worry about this very much when I first had the car. Now I know the car inside out it's not an issue.

I've been told that it is an intermittent MIL, rather than constant which is dangerous.

Thanks Giles, will ignore it then, at my peril no doubt.

Be careful though!

As I say, it only occurs with me when the car has been left out in damp weather. If you're at all worried, get it checked out. A dealer will be able to plugin a laptop very quickly and tell if a fault code has been logged.
