I'm with Admiral right now, £775 renewal for three cars over two people, not too bad - but nothing special.
But a speed awareness course has put that up to £910.

So, I'm planning to ditch them.
Can anyone recommend and alternative multi car insurer or broker for a single premium, single point of contact sort of thing?

Recently went with Swiftcover who mirrored NCD between two cars when going from a single to dual policy. Everything's online too, so it's really easy to change and update things.

I'd suggest trying Direct Line.

My girlfriend and I were both with Direct Line through coincidence and were both paying circa £500 each.

Upon moving in together for the first time I called to update the address details for us both and I added her to my insurance and me to hers.

I received a £240 refund and they applied the multi car discount to hers and gave her a £450 refund. To be honest we thought there had been a mistake at first but both policies have been updated in writing and the refunds have been paid out.
