Not sure if people already know about this team (ex factory) but it might be handy for some difficult to get hold of parts.

A few handy wedge parts on there - prices not outrageous either (assuming reasonable postage rates).

I like the fact they use the official TVR part numbers.

Very good and well priced compared to other TVR specialists, we know who they are and their prices of parts and postage charges :0

I don't suppose the whole chassis has corroded. It's probably just the out riggers as they are most prone to rust. They can easily be replaced at around £1500.00 at a specialist garage. If there is any other rust damage on the rest of the chassis that too can be cut out and pieces welded in depending where the damage is. If the damage on the main structure is too excessive, then the body has to be lifted and that can be quite costly, unless you are handy with the spanners, have the room to work and call in a welder to weld the required sections in for you. So, It's not the end of the world as there are options depending on how far you want to go and how much you are prepared to spend.

Hi its not just the outriggers, I have been told that the body needs to be removed. Its the seat belt plates too. Been told £2500 by local tvr repair garage. Thinking if I should sell all the parts or sell the car as is.

Still not the end of the world, after all they are only bits of steel plate with holes in and a thread, does say a lot for having engine oil leaks though to help preserve the chassis.

Think that was why Mini sub frames used to have rust issues on the rear frame only.......

Vero,
If you are handy with spanners you can easily reduce the cost of the repairs, the body is relatively easy to removed, I did my previous wedge and doing it to my current, most items can stay in place and either using a couple of engine hoist or beefy blokes can raise the vehicle and place it on stands, then you can roll the chassis off for repairs. All standard materials used for the chassis so again see if you can purchase these yourself, you might be able to find a local welder to do the job at home for you but if you do make a jig before you start cutting and butting. PM me if you want further info
Cheers

RT Racing are advertising 3x TVRCC members chassiswork special deals in this month's Sprint magazine, so I would definitely be giving them a call.

I've used them for 4 chassis now, including the Elephant. Great work! yes

You don't say where you are in God's own county, but a call to RT Racing in Sheffield might give you some ideas. They did the chassis work on Wheeler Dealers, I believe.

This is the link to the Cerbera episode.
Ignore the crap, but watch carefully the sections about refurbing the chassis. They make good viewing IMHO

Yeh, that price on the chassis work was a little misleading, it took time to realise one price was for powder coating and the higher price at the end was for the second hand chassis before powder coat, I still watch it though as I always see something I missed.
