I won't let it take over, I said.

Yeah, 5 years on...

Not in the pic is all the Aircraft kits I have as well. Normally stacked but I've moved them as the bottom ones looked like there were ready to collapse. After a quick check, all is well thankfully as some of them are quite rare now.

I'll get round to building them eventually but can't believe how quickly they add up!

Does anyone else's model stash end up end up being more than they can build?

I have got a fair number of unbuilt Tamiya kits as well - over 20 from memory. No room to display them or time to build them.

I also have in excess of 40 fully built kits in display in cabinets at my mums as well. Drives her nuts though as they in the way.

Dont collect them anymore as they are way too expensive. I mean £50 for the RedBull RB5???

Prefer the older models - mine also have the correct cigarette logo's as well - Marlboro, JPS, Camel, Gitanes, Rothmans, etc.

Even have the correct 1/12 Marlboro decals for my unbuilt McLaren MP4 & Camel decals for my unbuilt Williams FW14!

I like the way you've arranged them on the bed - very erotic. I prefer mine layed out on the rug:

I'd describe my stash as "eclectic". Some of them were bought as presents. The Raptor and Sea Venom were from a contact who reviews kits, and just ends up giving them away becasue he gets so many sent to him. The Raptor has a shed load of aftermarket with it as well, resin cockpit, photo etch etc. which is nice. The only addition will be a 1:12 Ferrari 641, then I'll work through them. I'm far more interested in building than collecting.

I've just got that mosquito, so please don't post any more pictures of it as it'll only depress me. I am tempted by add ons but don't think I'll see any benefit over the original, any advice or thoughts on the score are welcome though!

The Tamiya Mosquito is beautiful kit. All I've bought extra for it is an Eduard photo-etch set (not much in it really, but the seat belts are nice) and some Master Model brass turned gun barrels. Oh yeah, and a few sheets of woodgrain decals...can you guess what I've got in mind :-)

I have built a few kits and have 2 on the go now, a Huey and a commission build of a friends VW Golf, though I think I'll be finished with the replica before she's finished the real one.

My unbuilt Aircraft kits include;

Tamiya 1/48 Avro Lancaster + all available eduard photo etch kits
Tamiya 1/48 DeHavilland Mosquito
Tamiya 1/48 RAF Staff van (ok not an aircraft but goes with them)
Airfix 1/48 Spitfire MkVa - Douglas Barder's
Airfix 1/48 EE Lightning F.2A/F6

2x Airfix 1/72 BAe Nimrod
Revell 1/72 Handley Page Victor (very rare kit)
Airfix 1/72 Avro Vulcan XH558
Airfix 1/72 Vickers Valiant
Airfix 1/72 PBY-5A Catalina/Blackcat

Some I'm hoping to make into dioramas when I learn how to make the scenes.

I have got some pictures of the kits I have built, am I ok to post them in here or is there a thread already open for that sort of thing?

Just reached 700 and rising.

By the way, the Revell Victor is not that rare. It was originally released by Matchbox in the early 1980s and Revell (who own many of the former Matchbox moulds) re-released it not that long ago.

I have an original Matchbox version in my stash.

There is a "Pics of your models, please!" Thread in "Scale Models", but it mainly seems to be populated with diecast cars.

I'd start a new thread and put them there. I'd be interested in seeing them.

You said the Revell Victor was very rare - is it the 1:72 version as you said, or is it the old 1:96 version?

It's the Revell 1/72 version. I say it's rare because I spent about 10days looking for it to complete my V-Bombers collection and absolutely no where had it, only 2 came up on eBay (I bought one of them) and I haven't seen any since.

I did look in that thread but came to the same conclusion that's it's mainly Diecast collections. I'll start new thread for scale model kits, I'd be interested in what others have built too smile

I meant start a new thread just to show your own completed models, but I don't suppose it matters :-)

For my past few models I've started a build thread, and the finished models are at the end of those.

Most of us who build kits open a specific thread for each model. I think that works best for kits.

I find that I never start any, though, as I have no idea what I would do with the finished model. A 24th scale Mosquito or 32nd scale Spitfire/Mustang don't really go with the living room..

Could always hag them above my bed.....hehe

If its the Tamiya 1:32 Spitfire/Mustang, I'd be happy to give them a good home ;-)

They are indeed, complete with aftermarket decals, resin and PE extras - and they're staying where they are, thank you very much.... hehe
