Hi chaps
I have a Sky+ HD box in my living room, and have a desire to add a new one in my bedroom. Now, I know you can pick up "4 port" LNB's for under £20, so it's not a major problem, however, squinting up to my sky dish on the wall, it appears I already have a 4 port one fitted.
There are definitely 4 poles on the LNB, but my current dish is wired into "1 & 3". So, before I go out and buy all my stuff, I just wantd to check there isn't something silly going on? For example, could it be a 2 port LNB with 2 blanking poles at "1 & 3"?? Or, if i can see 4 metal poles, is it just a case of fitting another twin cable to ports 2 & 4 and running them to my other sky+ box?
The only other question I have is: are all poles on an LNB fed the signal? IF so, why would the engineer use 1 & 3 and not 1& 2. Can I swap 3 into 2 for a neater cable run when fitted my second box?
Cheers in advance for any help

Assuming its a sky dish and not some type of communal system then you can use any feed from it. It will be 4 outputs.
If he has used 1 and 3 its probably so he could screw the F plugs on with his fat fingers.
If you run further wires in then make sure you dont move the dish and also check your terminations as any braid touching the inner core will kill the signal stone dead.
If you are doing it in the wet then switch off the other sky box, it is only 18 volts but it does tickle
