On this mornings train ride that I take daily into London, I wake up at approx 5:20am. It seems much lighter in the mornings than it ever used to, many years ago. So...
Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon. Could it be that we are out of kilter with the earths rotation, or some other science that we are not aware of?

I shall no doubt be spinning my clocks back on the 27th, but feel like this is futile.

Perception of light weather etc is more effected by weather and then mood than any greater phenomenon. Some countries don't bother with daylight savings

personally i wish we didnt bother with daylight saving, it just seems to plunge us into instant post work darkness over night.

I suggest replacing the battery in your watch.

Oh, and you were late for work.

What I have never worked out is why we go back onto BST so late. If we put the clocks back roughly 2 months before the shortest day why do we put them back forward 3 months later rather than 2?

I walk the dog at half five. There hasn't been any light in the sky at that time for a month or so.

I think you left the outside light on.

You may think it's futile, but adjusting the clocks means that my son gets to walk to school and come home during daylight hours.

As for light at 5:20am, I think that either you are confusing moonlight with sunlight or your watch had stopped.

Edit: Strange first post for quite some time?

7am was pretty pitch black for me. Actually had to turn the lights on in the house for the first time in a while, couldn't see a thing.
