Puma or Cougar - £600 Snotter
Discussion
The missus will now be driving the daily family car due to a recent shunt in her KA, not sure I trust her with the new toy however.
I get the insurance money for the KA in a day or two and need to sort a daily runner for my 12 mile commute to the office. Which brings me on to the question above.
I only have a small budget so its either a Puma or Cougar. I think I may sway to the cougar as I may have to do the odd long trip for work.
Would be nice to hear from anyone who has had both.

The Cougar wasn't Ford's finest hour - the Mondeo of the period is a better car.
Puma can be a bit noisy on the motorway, but should be better than the KA. If you can find a decent one, I'd go for the Puma.

Isn't Probe the terrible Ford coupe?
The Cougar is based on a Mondeo of the time, but strangely just wasn't as good. Also more expensive to run as some parts are unique to it.
The Cougar is slow and thirsty, the Puma will entertain - go for it! Loads of Pumas being scrapped for rust everywhere so be careful! Consider Pumas and ST170's - the Cougar is a decent enough car but needs to be throw away cheap.
Edit ah ignore the st170 comms just seen the £600 budget
