They're usually very efficient, so I can't imagine you'll be waiting for long.

But if you're worried give them a call and they'll be happy to help, they managed to help my Mum buying Christmas presents for me last year when she forgot what car I had so I can't see you having a problem!

IIRC, you don't get an electronic confirmation. It all comes in the post - don't panic for a while yet; they're pretty hot stuff in the TVRCC office. I renewed late this year, and it still all came within about a week of sending the cash and paperwork off.

I'm sure if you search hard enough, you'll find someone who had a slow response, but I've never met one.
