Track days coming up at KH

Lets see if this one lasts longer than the usual track day threads that seem to be removed by the more zealous mods with monotonous regularity. Not a track day organiser here - just curious if anyone from here is going out.
Looks like Knockill's own car trackday (not hot hatch) this Saturday 10am-4pm, and Track Scotland on November 2, 12-4pm.
In a bit of a quandary about these. Car is back together and running again but in truth I don't want/need 6 (or 4) hours on track for the first shakedown again. I really just want a couple of dozen-lap sessions then check everything over. There have been too many sessions this year for me where I've had to give up early with car problems so I need to break it in gently and make sure nothing else is going to break (or melt!).
Plus I don't really want a wet day. No problems taking the car out in the wet - done loads of sessions when it's been chucking it down, but with the aim of monitoring the car for temperatures and pressures it's not going to get run hard enough in the wet to come to any meaningful conclusions. I've had it up the road a few times since the rebuild but there's no way I can get it up to proper temperatures (including brakes, 'box, diff etc) except on a dry track.
Decisions decisions. Maybe leave it to the last minute and see if its dry and there's the possibility to haggle a short stint at the end or something.
Anyway - anyone else planning to be out on track?

Track Scotland day is Sat 2nd Nov isn't it? I'm planning going for that one.
To be honest there's obviously nothing you can do re. weather and you don't have to be there for the full 4 hours. I thought £100 was pretty good value for 4 hours so you wouldn't be losing out too much if you only went for two (compared to a shorter event, that is).

You can book 3 hours this Sat for £80 instead of doing the full 6 hour open pit session.
Hot hatch - sessions of about 10 minutes usually with 6 sessions on rotation.
Open pit - less cars and less clowns - stay out as long as you want.
Personally I only do open pit.

usually major; but out again with nice shiny new pistons and valves. Just there for the morning session - slippy at first, and maybe not the best plan to be out on slicks, but the car actually finished in a still-working condition! There's the first time this year. Not running full revs and lots of short-shifting but a decent first outing on the rebuilt motor.
First 2 laps - not much to see really - just pussy-footing around and slippy/sliding, especially at the hairpin.

Later on in the morning - changed the slicks for 888s and found some grip. Still short-shifting but car seems to be running OK. dunc_sx's 944 Turbo at 3:30. Someone forgot to fasten their bonnet at 5:45

Overall a pretty good day with not too many folks on track - surprisingly quiet really.
