I am intending to buy a Disco 4 and my budget (low £20,000's) means I am considering relatively high mileage cars. Can anyone confirm what the major services are and give any indication of costs? I have read that the whole body needs to be lifted to sort turbo issues, are there any major services where this is required?

I suggest you post in the Disco 4 section on www.disco3.co.uk forum. Some of the chaps on there run high mileage Disco's and will be better placed to comment on service costs.

I understand there is no need to remove the body to work on or remove the Turbo's.

This whole 'have to take the body off' thing is spreading like chinese whispers but what's wrong with lifting the body off??

AFAIK - All service jobs can be done with the body on and most other tasks can be done with the body on too...

However, as the body can be lifted in under 2hrs, there may well be occasions where it is just easier to lift the body if you have a whole load of awkward jobs to do. I mean, if you have 6x jobs, where each one takes 1.5hrs with the body on or 15 mins with the body off... What are you going to do??

Isn't that list missing the 100k front and rear belt change. I've been lead to believe that this can now be done with the body on.
