Precision Driving Day PEC

Signed onto the waiting list for a Precision Driving Day next March, has anybody else done this, if so what is the format? I spoke to a Porsche Driving Instructor at Leicester OPC whom said it was a fantastic day and i think he said you use your own car on the Porsche Circuit and then you use a PEC car when driving on the Silverstone GP Circuit, is that correct?
What car do you drive, is it anything they have spare, or do they match the car you have?

You should have the choice of hiring one of their cars should you wish. Seem to recall a GT3 was about £280 for the day - Trust me it's well worth it! After about an hour on a sand covered low friction surface it looked like we'd driven off the Paris Dakar rally stage!
However, if you like the virtues of traction control to be demonstrated by repeatedly bouncing your pride and joy off its rev limiter in 1st gear use your own car :-).
Your driving consultant should tailor the day to suit your needs but the highlight should be an afternoon spent familiarising yourself with the Silverstone GP circuit.

£940 for the whole day but as stated, that's in your car. If the idea is learning how to handle your car then I'd suggest using your car otherwise you'll be spending part of your valuable tuition time learning another car.

Fair point about learning how your own car handles and in my case I had a GT3. However, when we 'fell off' the low friction circuit into the dirt and undergrowth whilst practising oversteer I wasn't half thankful it wasn't in my own car!http://www.porsche.com/silverstone/en/experience/p...

You mean you're not a driving god, come on man this is PistonHeads ... falling off as if!Yep I did the GT day and spent 90 minutes in the red GT3 and conducted many off road excursions, we took it back with mud on the roof, tyre warning lights such great fun!!!

I did the precision course early this year in my car! Fantastic day, did the Porsche circuit for 1.5 hours had a break, familiarization with Silverstone circuit before lunch then some serious driving (for me) got the car up to 155mph. But have to say never realised how difficult and tiring it is to consentrate when driving like this. The course ran till 4.30 but by 3.30 I was struggling to keep things tidy (hats off to pro drivers) called it a day at 4 and drove back to Manchester at about 55mph!! One thing the instructer did point out was that I would not have had anywhere near as much time on Silverstone had I not been in my own car. A great day and as much as I like my car clean and shiny it's gonna get driven. Enjoy!! What car do you drive, is it anything they have spare, or do they match the car you have?
