Quite proud of me...I'm so Pistonheads.

I got interested in buying a Nissan Leaf when I went to my local main dealer. Liked the car, liked the fuel savings, understood the idea of an electric car and even had the charging point fitted. (For free, thanks taxpayer).
Then I did some more sums and realised that if I spent £11k on an Exeo I'd get an awful lot of toys, low running costs, a pretty decent car and the £5k difference between the Seat and the Nissan would buy a massive amount of fuel.
Electric car out of the window. I want 170bhp, Bose, leather and satnav.
So then I thought a bit more... Exeo, nice car, but it's a bit 'meh'. Maybe I should buy something a little more exciting....
And then I got a little bit woozy at the golf club, got chatting about cars and my mate Jim decided that he'd be happy selling his vehicle after seven years of trouble free ownership. (He's genuinely never seen the engine, and the only real problem with the car is a small pair of dents where he closed the boot onto some Pinot Grigio).
Couple more sherberts, deal done. I pick up his Boxster on Friday evening.
p.s - it's being given a pre-sale check by SCS Porsche as I know that's important, but I'm sure it will be fine.

It's just a 2.7 from 2002. Only 49k on the clock though and it really is in lovely condition.
Jim is pretty well heeled and retired, so he's not been thrashing it. He's kept it garaged and covered 10k miles in it in 7 years. It's been properly serviced and the car drives very well.
It's not as quick as I'd imagined. I'd been expecting punch but it just pulls strongly throughout the rev range.
Given a choice I'd have preferred a post-facelift car without a tan leather interior, and I suppose I could have spent some time looking, but equally it's about the marque and the open top thrills.
Car is £6k, probably about the right money, though that will be reduced if the inspection suggests any problems.
Pics on Saturday if I have time.
