I like my Diesel 1.4 A2
Discussion
so I needed a station/school run hack for the missus. Other car is a Disco 3. We bought an A2 and it is 11 years old. It really has pleasantly surprised me compared to some of the 'tinny' new cars I looked at on finance.
the positives:
I will own it in 3 years rather than have to hand it back with the inevitable charges for reparative work caused by children
I am not bothered if it implodes after 3 years (It cost a little over 3K)
It still looks good
It is as efficient as the current micro cars.
It is spacious (surprisingly more than expected)
aircon very good
Radio /CD/speaker system excellent for small car
£30 tax
negligible servicing/MOT cost (offset by the Disco of course)
negatives:
It doesn't smell like a new car
some niggles (I broke the glove box door but DIY fix sorted it)
No rear wiper
Ride is bumpy but car factor zero as i'm not driving more than a few miles each time.
no sat nav
All in all it must have been ahed of its time when it came out as I think it keeps up with the modern micro cars well.
