This is the reason why.
Either Tescos at wokingham or
Waitrose Bracknell
As i was in the Parent and child space at Waitrose my money is on some daft fker in a 4x4 at Wokingham
How they didn't know is beyond me
There is no CCTV footage
Oh well, that's £400.00 down the pan
So if i am spotted taking up two spots in future, i refer my learned friendsback to this pic

Oh Yes and they left their details

LIKE fk THEY DID

Assume £400 is your insurance excess.

If it was me, I'd try applying a sink plunger to that and seeing if it will pop out.

Mike
That is what my friendly man will charge. The excess is £300.00 so i am not losing much, should ave the £100 in no increase in ins charges

I would be tempted to get in the boot. Take the boot liner off and give it a light shove from behind.

Yep.

Looks like there's a good chance it would pop out.

Agreed, pushing from the inside would be best.
But not everyon is game for removing the boot liners and poking thier paws through the metal work to push.

A sink plunger works well. OP, wash the dent to stop any dirt causing scratches and to get a better seal to the plunger.

Wet the plunger and the paintwork to get a decent seal and have a good tug.

Erm, that sounded bad. What I mean is pull on yer plunger.

Oh eck. Well, you know what I mean.

Honestly, I'd say there's a 50/50 chance of that going straight back to the right shape using a plunger. A plunger will cost you less than a tenner and the whole job will be less than half an hour, you can't really do any (more) damage, so what have you got to lose?

Wowza - how the hell did they manage that in a parent/baby space? Those spaces are nice and big.

I guess it proves that no matter how big the space, there are still braindead bellends out there with zero spacial reasoning and will still find a way to prang something next to them.

Best to shop out of hours or off-peak, park right at the back and find a corner. Then shop as quickly as you can. Or shop at CostCo, they have big spaces in an even bigger car park. smile

Always park in the furthest corner away from all the Plebs, middle of 2 spaces just in case. This tactic has always worked

Or, if it's a car you remotely care about, avoid supermarkets altogether and get your food delivered.

Looks like there is a crease in it so it will still need sorting out afterwards. Plus there is a mark on the door.

I heard an exchange of words in Tesco car park the other day.

Victim: OI! WTF?

Muppet: It's only a fking scratch, it's just a car not a child

Victim: It's not "just" a car, it's a financial asset which costs money to buy, maintain and run... and you've just cost me more! teacher

Muppet: fk Off!

OP, I feel sorry for you and the damage caused, thats a serious dent and I agree that the guilty party was aware of what happened.

Most people I see who straddle two spaces do so in an thinly veiled attempt to make it look accidental and as a result, are taking up more of one space than the other. Rarely is the car directly straddling two spaces.

As I have a small car, I can take the opportunity to park next to you in the larger of the two spaces available, please note I was brought up to respect other peoples things and I will be careful not to damage your car in any way knowing that space will be minimal. Yes this is childish but it provides me with mild amusement as I visualise your disbelief on your return, how will you get your obnoxious fat arse into your car, how will you juggle all your shopping and children without dropping one or the other. How will you get in and reverse out without damaging anyone elses car?... then ask yourself why you straddled two spaces in the first place.

I have told this before. I was sat in my car when two young girls in a Mini opened the door on my car so hard that it put a dent in it. I got out and asked for details to be only met with abuse and them walking off.

So I calmly went to the mini and kneed every panel in on it. Made me feel better, as if they had apologised I would probably just been annoyed and got it fixed.

I predict you won't do this many times before the obnoxious fat ared two bay parker gains mild amusement from using his door to create a dent in your small car.
Doing things to deliberately wind people up is never smart.

To be honest, I dont do it that often, normally only if I have to and if its not nearside to nearside. Logic says there that the driver has space to get in and drive/reverse out to allow space for passengers to get in. I also work on the principle that having gone to the trouble of straddling two spaces the owner is more likely to prevent damaging their car even if it is just the leading edge of the door. The point I was making is that taking up two spaces is still not going to guarantee your car from damage. If there is only one space left and its in a space you are straddling, then people will try to ssqueeze in.

As for doing things deliberately to wind people up, well.... they started it! wink

I'm sorry but I really would have knifed at least 1 tyre - I have a multi-tool in the glove box that would have sufficed just nicely.
Yes, I know never to touch another mans pride and joy but that attitude marks them as being beyond my reasonable thought process.

£400????
I'd be very surprised if that doesn't just pop/push out with very little time or effort.
