Audi A6 - 'Solar' panel on door mirror?
Discussion
Someone at work has a current generation A6 Avant with the automatic folding mirrors.
I noticed that with them folded in there is what appears to be a solar panel (I doubt it is but it looks like a light sensor) on the part that would face the A pillar when they are folded down - the bit you cant see in the photo below.

The car is in a dark colour so its not obvious but any idea what this might be as the Audi website only lists the usual heated, folding, etc. options.
Maybe something to do with the auto dimming function?

Wouldn't that work in conjunction with the interior RVM with the sensor??
Thats what I would have thought as there is normally a sensor on the rear view mirror that dims all the mirrors when light hits them.As the sensor would be facing the window with the mirrors in the normal use position then it would have to take a reading that was bounced off the glass?
Its a big panel as well, much bigger than the usual auto dimming sensor inside.
Here you go - might be the LED's for the blind spot warning
