Wipers no longer move - where do I start?
Discussion
Hi all,
So I was driving home in the rain the other day and all of sudden my wipers decided to stop in the middle of the screen for a couple of seconds before moving to the usual park position and not coming back up for a swipe.
If I time it right when the wipers are on I can manually move the wipers up to the middle of my screen before the down swipe kicks in and moves them back into that park position and doesnt move again.
Any clues where to begin and test?
Thanks for any help

First of all lift the bonnet, then lift wipers off the screen and see if they work while off the screen. (to remove load from motor) If they still don't work off the screen then check fuse.
If fuse is Ok then check you have power to the motor located on near side front wing just below windscreen using a multimeter or bulb and a bit of wire.
If you have power to motor then I would say you need a new park switch which is part of the connector on the wiper motor and is cheap and easy to replace.
If your motor runs when the blades are lifted off the screen then a strip down and clean of all moving parts would be a good start.
Let us know what you find.
Paul.
